So I remember the old way, but now that iOS does different colors for iPhones verses other devices, any idea how you set the colors? I would be using ssh.

Ok so I got my mom's old iPhone 3G, and because I live in Norway (the phone is American) I had to unlock it. I managed to jailbreak it using redsn0w. But I still cant unlock it because the baseband is 5.15.04. I heard that redsn0w has an iPad baseband 6.15.00 option, but the version I used (0.9.6b4) doesnt have that. So is there any other way?

is there a cheap cable (non apple) that will work now that my phone is jailbroken?

I have never let my MBP off my desk and it has a few tiny tiny scratches on the top. I have OCD so it really bugs me. Is it unrealistic to expect it to stay perfect?

It just automatically starts the E.O. Wilson Biology Book. There's no way I can go to my bookshelf and check out other books.

I've been asked to build an app that communicates with a set of Linux servers, each of which is connected to a piece of test equipment. Think of it as one place to see the stats from N different instances of the same piece of test equipment.

These stats are generated frequently (every 1 second), and that is the update rate for the presentation. The app's job, therefore, is to present a unified view of the information from those pieces of test equipment such that the suits can see it whenever they'd like to have a look.

Notwithstanding the complexities of that last part of the requirement, I'm looking for some sample code that I can use to understand network coding on iOS. I'm experienced with socket programming in Linux.

I have a protocol that I have to comply with that is UDP-based, I know the IP address and port numbers that I can use, I know how to implement the protocol at a behavioral level. The protocol itself is quite simple with a limited number of commands/responses.

What I don't know is how to do that stuff on iOS. Are there any good examples beyond the Apple sample code (I'm looking at the WiTap and MVCNetworking examples right now)? Any gotchas that I should be looking out for? Any idioms that are useful?

I know it's a pretty open ended question, but I'm appreciative of any help you can provide.

Just bought an original ATV off a MR member -- good seller Ray.

First time ATV user. I want to take a rented movie to my parents house to watch it on the ATV. Is that possible?

If i rent a movie and transfer it to my ATV, can I physically move the ATV to another location to play it back?

Or does it have to be connected to the network in my home to work?

There is a definite difference between these two boxes in audio quality. Using Toslink on both, the ATV2 doesn't come close to the sound quality of the AE. I have 2 ATV2s and a side by side comparison with the AE. The AE wins hands down

Has anyone else noticed this or am I out on a limb myself. This was mentioned in another forum so I thought I'd try it and wow. Never really used the ATV2's for music and I guess I wont plan on it.:confused:
